Regency Rosewood Card Table with Rare Palm Cross Banding

Regency rosewood fold over card table, the rectangular top with rare palm-wood crossbanding opening to a replaced tooled black leather interior; the apron with string inlay centered by a leaf carved and gilded medallion on a stylish arched support raised on a plinth base with gilt leaf and scroll decoration; the quadripartite base raised on four out-swept legs with string inlay and brass paw casters.

Palm was imported to England from the Western Hemisphere. Rarely used in furniture making, the banding to the top on this table is end-grain.
