Subtitled, "Locomotive No. 1915", the artist affixed an explanatory label to the reverse that explains,
"[The No. 1915] was one of 25 BERKSHIRE type (2-8-4) Locos built by Lima for the Missouri Pacific R. R.

These engines labored in Freight service on the Mo Pac from about the late 1920s and all through the 1930s.

By 1942, all 25 had been rebuilt into still more powerful Northern type 4-8-4s for Wartime service."
