Overall: 83" x 49"
Jaye Gregory (1952-2016) worked primarily as a sculptor. Specializing in the female figure, she cast her life-like renderings in bronze, plaster and synthetic resin. She was also a talented sketch artist, drawing portraits and landscapes with pencil, charcoal and pastel.
Simultaneously a student and instructor for much of her career, these monumental drawings serve as a testament to her life-long study of the human form. The page from an artist's anatomy book was taped to the right hand drawing, as seen in the photos. She scaled it up eight-fold and, not content to simply replicate the image, she imposed the skeleton and muscles.
Each drawing is mounted on an acid free archival board; framed with Tru Vue non-glare conservation acrylic that provides 99% UV protection.
