The arms are of David Roche who became Viscount Fermoy in County Cork. The heraldic term for the fish in the shield is 'roach'.(1) Variant spellings include 'roche', hence their presence.

Chinese Export for the Irish market is rare. David Howard places the number of armorial services to Ireland at 135, compared to the 2,100 that went to England, Scotland and Wales during the same period.

(1) The roach is a common, edible fish native to all of Europe, including Ireland and bears no relation to the pest we Americans refer to with the Victorian contraction of 'cockroach'.
