George III Mahogany Slant Front Desk, c. 1760-70

George III mahogany slant front desk with fine color and patina and desirable small size. The fall board opens to a fitted interior centered on a prospect door mounted with fluted half-columns joined by an arch. The flanking columns are secret document slots and the pigeonholes and small drawers provide further storage. The four long graduated drawers are beaded and have their original brass handles, the whole raised on bracket feet.
