Louis-Francois Bellange (1759-1827) was a Parisien cabinet maker who delivered furniture to Napoleon in 1811. For a closely related example see Denise Ledoux-Lebard, "Le Mobilier Français du XIX Siecle" (Paris: Les editions de l'ameteur, 1989), page 64. While the wood and feet are different, the volutes and leaf carving on the front supports are nearly identical. Note also the similarities to the rear supports: the overall proportions, the plinth blocks at the bases and the applied molding at the tops are all hallmarks of this important shop.
